Item Description
This is a rare opportunity to own a scarce Staffordshire pottery whistle! This fantastic miniature whistle is modelled as a bird with the mouthpiece at his tail. This Staffordshire whistle was produced in England during the late 18th century, circa 1790. The bird has been decorated by hand with earthy prattware underglaze enamels. These little whistles are extremely hard to find, it is remarkable that any have survived! This is the perfect item for anyone who loves birds, anyone who loves rare and early English ceramics.
Measuring: Width 2 5/8 inch (6.5 cm) by height 1 ½ inch (3.5 cm).
Condition: Light surface wear commensurate with age.
