Item Description
This is a decorative little early Tunbridge Ware gaming tray. This small hand turned item of treen was produced in England during the 19th century, circa 1820. The white wood Tunbridge ware gaming tray features an interior coloured print depicting a coastal scene. We see several buildings near the cliff face, notice also the cave below and the groynes on the beach. One of a pair, each sold individually, see last images.
Gaming trays were used for storing your gaming pieces and or coins. Very often they came in sets of four, or five the larger 'kitty' tray. They now make a fuctional little pot for storing housekeys, loose change etc....
This is the perfect item for a collector! Ideal for anyone with who loves early Tunbridge ware.
Measuring: Diameter 3 ½ inch (9 cm) by height ¾ inch (2 cm).
Condition: Light surface wear and aging to printed surface. But good considering its 200 years of age.
