Item Description
We are very excited to offer this scarce little example. This rare miniature dolls size spongeware plate was produced in England during the 19th century, circa 1830. The plate is of toy size proportions and is one of the smallest items of spongeware that we have seen!
The plate features a sponged red star design to the centre with a pretty sponged blue Vandyke border. All decorated by hand. This is the perfect accessory for a larger doll, also ideal for anyone who has a passion for early spongeware and folk art!

Measuring: Diameter 2 7/8 inch (7.5 cm).
Condition: Pinhead size flea bite to rim. Very minor ½ inch hairline to underside of rim, almost impossible to see.
