Miniature Staffordshire Figure Cat Kitten Dog Puppy King Charles Cavalier Spaniel C 1850 RARE
Item Description
We are very excited to share with you this very rare little miniature figure group. This scarce and decorative miniature Staffordshire figure was made here in England during the first half of the 19th century, circa 1840. The porcelaneous figure features a kitten with a mouse and puppy playing next to a large jug, this is a highly unusual style of figure! The cat is a tortoiseshell in colouring, and the dog is a little liver and white King Charles Cavalier spaniel. The figures stand on a cobalt blue base with gilt detailing. Animal figures from this period are highly collectible, relatively uncommon and pre-date the Staffordshire flatbacks that we all know and love. This is the perfect item for anyone who loves all things cats and dogs!
