Item Description

This wonderful little Tunbridge Ware box was made in England around the 1830 period. This small, sliding lid box is a rare and sought after example of early Tunbridge ware. The whitewood box features an incredibly detailed coloured circular print to the lid depicting Durham Cathedral. Notice also the hand painted detailing.

This box comes with excellent provenance from the personal collection of one of the UK's experts and published authors in Tunbridge Ware.

This is the perfect item for a collector! Ideal for anyone with who loves early Tunbridge ware.

Measuring: Width 3 ½ inch (9 cm) by height 1 7/8 inch (5 cm). Depth 2 5/8 inch (6.5 cm).

Condition: Surface wear commensurate with age. Old glue repair to one of the inside corners, perfectly stable.
