Item Description
An absolute original 1920s period handbag with good provenance, purchased many years ago from the sale of an English antique textile collector's estate. One of three similar handbags purchased from same deceased estate, each retailed individually.
This very decorative bag was handmade back in the 1920s from plant fibre, pina cloth (pineapple cloth). We adore the bright red chilli pepper appliqué design to the front face, the reverse is plain. Fully lined.
Size: Including handle 15.25" (39 cm) tall by 12" (31 cm) wide
Condition: It has some one yellowy 1" wide mark to the handle.
A good strong, super example for a costume collection/museum. It could be used for a special occasion.
