Item Description
A very gorgeous little Regency period Japanned chinoiserie sewing box, featuring gilded Chinoiserie scenes on a black lacquered surface. Dating to the 1820 period and English in origin its hand painted decoration intended to simulate the more expensive penwork decorated boxes. Complete with original pink paper lined interior.
It is the perfect addition to your curated interior. Please see a similar decorated calling card case from the same period, retailed separately, shown in last images.
Size:3 3/8 inch tall by 7 5/8 inch by 5 5/8 inch ( 8.5 cm by 19.5 cm by 14.5 cm)
Condition: Good and sound. Minor age related surface wear, this box is 206 years old. Opens and closes well. No key. Inner sewing tray missing as is exceedingly common. Creates more flexibility to store anything now.
