19th Century Oil On Board Painting Richmond Bridge River Thames C 1820

This delightful original oil painting was produced in England during the 19^th century, circa 1820. The painting is on board and is housed in its original buttery gilt frame. The painting depicts Richmond Bridge which is an 18th-century stone arch bridge that crosses the River Thames at Richmond, connecting the two halves of the present-day London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. It was designed by James Paine and Kenton Couse. In the painting we see a couple on the river in a small rowing boat and sailing boats on the riverbank. We can even see a mother and her children walking along the path of the river.
