Item Description

This wonderful small blue and white porcelain saucer plate was made by Worcester porcelain factory in England during the 18th century, circa 1775 (fully marked to the base with Worcester blue crescent). This is an early piece made during their first period of porcelain production. The pattern is known as the ‘Mother and Child’ and as the names suggest, depicts a mother sitting next to her child. Notice the amazing vases and flowers, incredible.

It is hard to believe that this item is around 250 years old. This small plate was made during the time of the American Revolution, the Boston Massacre and of course the Boston Tea Party. It is remarkable that it has survived, obviously cherished by each and every owner since 1770s. This is the perfect antique for anyone who loves all things 18th century, or has a passion for quality English antiques. It looks superb displayed as part of a gallery wall grouping....see last image.

Measuring: Diameter 5 1/8 inch (13 cm).

Condition: Small very shallow graze to foot rim and a hairline stress mark to foot rim.
